CLP Holdings Limited (CLP)
Founded in 1901 in Hong Kong, the CLP Group is one of the leading power companies in Asia-Pacific. Through the years, CLP has grown to become a conglomerate of companies with a portfolio of over 30 generation assets and retail businesses in different countries in the region.
Over the past two decades, CLP has expanded its footprint from Hong Kong into mainland China, Australia, India, Thailand and Taiwan. CLP has the total generating capacity of over 17,000 MW of which over 1,300 MW or around 10% of the total generating capacity of its portfolio is from the renewable energy. This is as a result of a commitment to reduce the carbon emissions intensity of our power generation portfolio by about 75% by 2050 as CLP’s contribution to the collective response to tackling the challenge of climate change.
In Hong Kong, CLP operates a vertically integrated electricity generation, transmission and distribution business. It supplies electricity to approximately 80% of Hong Kong's total population.
Being the flagship subsidiary of CLP Group and the largest electricity provider in Hong Kong, our Hong Kong business contributes a significant portion (over 70%) of the Group's operating earnings.
Chinese Mainland and Asia Pacific
